As some of you may already know, the OLA is supporting a lawsuit against the federal government in connection with the recent gun ban being brought by several firearms owners represented by Toronto lawyer Arkadi Bouchelev. The Notice of Application in that proceeding was issued today. It can be downloaded here.

Having the CgC act as intervenor will not cause much of a delay. This will take a year or more to settle as it is .

I am inclined to think that (and especially if any of these cases are successful) we (private citizens and orgs) should proceed with other cases rather than our current tactic of praying for a Conservative government and hoping that they do something. Really, the Conservatives have done very little; their biggest victory has been to scrap the long gun registry which was basically just an annoyance and waste of money but not much more. They've done nothing to allow more freedoms with firearms (ie: scrapping the classification system, allowing handguns to be used in the woods or for wilderness protection, easing magazine restrictions, etc.) with the exception of the short-lived re-classification of the Swiss Arms and CZ, all of their "victories" have been administrative. Perhaps we need to fight our own battles...
The legal firearm owner in Canada must be very careful to follow the letter of the law in regards to the firearms act, he must, above all, be very careful NOT to try to interject REASON or COMMON SENSE into the process

I've been trying to get the newfoundland government to allow license people mainly hunting and fishing guides but civilians and those with proper licensing and training should be allowed as well to carry in the woods minimum a nine mil for protection of themselves and their guidees I guess the word would be
Is it wrong to love the clack clack bang, but wanna run from a click tick lol
