Does the spring assist use an AR buffer spring (or the buffer tube in general), or is it internal to the receiver?
If the assist spring doesn't involve the buffer tube you can use one of the MDT folding stock adapters.

I believe it was stated elsewhere that the assist would use the spring and buffer tube compatible with the AR15 and the now prohibited, previously non-restricted direct impingement rifles.

Why wouldn't it be the same as using the AIA mags in an m14?

RCMP have classified the Stanag mags as 5 rounds of .223 max no matter what firearm it goes in, unless it is a pistol mag which is 10 rounds

Would it be possible to add the bolt catch or some way of holding the action open. I think cleaning could be a pita if you have to disassemble the rifle otherwise. But still ordered one anyway. Thanks for the option.

I think it was either England or Australia where they had a platform similar to this prohibited because it used a bolt catch. Just one step further removed from an AR.

You don't want anything sticking out the side of the rifle.

You want the side of the rifle completely smooth for racking the bolt with your hand.
