That's what I thought but the advertisement I read said it will work for a 9mm so I was confused.

It really depends on where the rivet is placed. Some mags did not seat on a closed bolt when fully loaded but most did. We even found mags from the same brand had rivets installed at slightly different heights. If you can depress the rounds by 1/8" then they will seat.
I was just asking a question because the advertisement said it will work for 9mm and it didn't make sense because the BCG is entirely different
