Question 308 Win Light Practical Carbine - Info Thread

    Hello CGN,

We have had a lot of question about the 308 version of our Light Practical Carbine, so here's an update for everyone answering common questions.

Q: Are you working on a 308 version of the Light Practical Carbine?

A: YES! At this time we have yet to make the first prototype. We are completely focused on manufacturing the 223 version and getting those out the door as quickly as possible. Once manufacturing is going smoothly we will continue to work on the 308 version. We hope to be actively working on the models again in a few weeks.

Q: Will it be ready for fall hunting season?

A: Nope. This rifle is a completely novel design and will require a lot of testing. Thousands of rounds of testing with many different configurations. The gun needs to be reliable and work. Unfortunately testing isn't something that can be rushed and we know it's not possible to get enough live fire testing done before fall. Even if we had the first prototype sitting on our bench today it's doubtful we would have a production run ready for fall. We don't want to release an unreliable gun (Remember the Gen1 BCL102?).

Q: How much will it cost?

    A: Not sure yet.

Q: What calibers will it come in?

A: You can build it in most short action calibers like 308, 6.5 Creedmoor, etc.

Q: Will it have a spring assist?

A: No it will not. We strongly feel that including a spring assist, especially one using an AR15 recoil system, would result in an unfavorable classification.

And we have a question for you now.... What should we call this gun? Light Practical Rifle?

Can't come up with anything better than LPR. Getting tired of overt use of witticisms .
I'd be happy with rifle I can use, RIKU, literally.
He can't shoot like that with a stock Savage and a Bushnell scope
