Yes on both counts - a new line will be released shortly that covers the VX-Freedom AR scopes that were discontinued, plus adding new options with in-demand features.

Good to hear. I’ve been trying to find a 3-9 model, and this explains why everyone is out of stock.

This is absolutely untrue. All Leupold optics that mount to a firearm are built in Beaverton, Oregon.

Thank you KGL, that is great news.
I appreciate the quick response and will keep an eye out for the return of the 174181's.

Interesting that the have discontinued the VX-Freedom AR scopes which replaced the VX-R scopes, however the VX-Freedom AR scopes where quite a bit lighter than the VX-R scopes that they replaced and I wonder if they proved to be not so durable.

I have both the VX Freedom 2-7 and 3-9 rimfire. They were both good value purchases and have not failed me in any way. Hope they continue with the same quality. We all would like to have an endless supply of the VX2 but alas poor Yorick, it will not be.

All Leupold scopes are held to the same durability standards, as well as impact testing. The VX-R models were illuminated 30mm scopes, whereas the VX-Freedom line (predominately) are non-illuminated 1". A new line will be released soon that will cover many features you seek

Bino's, rangefinders, and spotters are produced in a couple of off shore locations (mostly Japan for higher end and China for entry level). Any optic that mounts to a firearm is made in Oregon. The only exception was the short lived Redfield Renegade.
