Bill Blair, CBSA and all the misinformation and drama

    To all our great customers.

Over the last 24 hours we have had numerous inquires regarding allegations that CBSA is banning AR-15/AR10 and misc parts from entering Canada. IRUNGUNS has not been advised of any further items being prohibited though the Canadian Firearms Program.

If you order off www.irunguns.com we will ensure you are looked after.

Everyone within CBSA has a different interpretation of the new import/export guidelines. Please remember you are dealing with two Governments and two countries. There is no unity between the two. You are also expecting that the declaration and EEI documents have been done correctly. Further to that all defense articles must be filed with AES regardless whether or not certain exemptions are used. We have been advised by US Government officials that this is not happening which is why most items never make it to their new home. All items have to clear US customs prior to entering Canada.

Given the current issues at hand, if you are having defense products shipped directly out of the US and expecting them to enter Canada with no issues you're rolling the dice.

Either order from someone in Canada or from either of our sites www.irunguns.com or www.irunguns.ca to ensure you have no issues.

The main reason IRUNGUNS has no problems with CBP or CBSA is all our documents and permits are in order and verified.

The owner also has a meeting with CBSA on Friday July 10th regarding the export of prohibited firearms from Canada to the US. He will also address this matter as well.

    Update

I met with CBSA at Coutts\Sweetgrass Border crossing which is the most heavily traveled port in Alberta.

They or CBSA have no knowledge of any additional correspondence from the RCMP or any other governing entity referencing additional items being prohibited under the Canadian Firearms Program. If someone has a copy of this alleged memorandum please forward it to us and I will look into it further.

CBSA does not refuse shipments and send them back to the originating seller.

Freight forwarders and or commercial carriers are required to file B3's with Canada Customs.

If they are not filed properly or CBSA requires additional information they reach out to these carriers or freight forwarders.

It is the responsibility of these freight forwarders and or commercial carriers to provide the correct information to clear the shipment.

If they can not be bothered or do not have the information to correct the entry the items are refused by CBSA and are not allowed into Canada.

If the Freight forwarders and or commercial carriers leave the shipment there for an extended amount of time they will occur additional storage charges.

That being said, for the 30-$40.00 they received for shipping the item if the declaration is not filled out properly it is just easier for them to send the items back to the original seller rather then using additional resources to try and clear a misc package.

I hope that helps explain the process.

Flat rate shipping to Canada is 25.00USD on all accessory and ammunition orders regardless of quantities ordered. Firearms are exported to Canada at a flat rate of 25.00USD per firearm.

So what changed? Why are individuals getting letters from the CBSA stating that AR15 triggers selectively seized from their shipments are "prohibited devices"?

No doubt that you know your stuff, but throwing out TLA's and concluding that purchasing from any dealer other than yourself is "rolling the dice" isn't convincing anyone.

I’m wagering that the meeting will be short and sweet comprising of the cbsa handing you a warning to immediately stop the importation of the said parts for new prohibs, otherwise they will fine you.

This is so wrong on so many levels.

Dealing with the Liberals is like dealing with the BORG. Your words will fall on deaf ears.
