Lightbulb The Easiest Way To Stay Up To Date With The Current OIC Related FRT Changes

We thought we would post this link to Armalytics.ca for people to use as a quick and comprehensive way stay up to date with the current FRT changes. We would like to thank the CSAAA for forwarding this to us and also Armalytics for their fantastic work. Armalytics accepts donations on their website to help cover the costs of hosting, etc. - please feel free to make a donation if you are able.

We know Armalytics has been mentioned elsewhere but the more places a useful resource like this can be found the better.

    Forwarded from the CSAAA:

Armalytics.ca has become the go-to resource for keeping track of changes to the FRT and offers a searchable database that allows business owners and consumers to search any or all firearms affected by the OIC firearms ban. The CSAAA has been extremely grateful for the work Armalytics has been doing for us as we continue to battle this latest attack on our industry.

Only thing i dont like is they say the modern sporter (etc) is prohibited and "affected by ban". This simply isn't true in that it was not mentioned in the OIC (The de facto legal ban) the modern sporter was ONLY changed via the rcmp reneging the FRT, which as per the RCMP website is NOT a legal document. It is subordinate to Canadian law, which has not stated the MS to be prohibited. It still meets all requirements for a legal nr rifle and i will still be using it.

if the frt lists it as effected by the ban then that is how it is listed. It doesn't matter that the FRT is not a legal document because it is the document that police forces use to determine if you have committed an offence (possession of a pohib without a licence say?) If the firearm in your possession is listed prohib by oic in the FRT you are probably getting charged, then you have to fight to prove it is not a prohib weapon, the punishment is the process, how hard is this for you people to understand?

you go ahead and use it to hearts content but when you get arrested and have all your firearms confiscated don't come crying about it.

Thank you wenstalls the more people that have the opportunity to see this the better.

Usually when you expand the details it will say which paragraph they referenced to prohibit in the FRT. ie: like an AR Par 87 or more than 10000 joules, etc

I would prefer if it was called "illegitimateban.ca", "abuseofpower.ca", "yourenotgettingthem.ca or "justincancomegetem.ca" . Really anything that doesn't lend credence to this miscarriage of justice.

You completely misunderstood my comment. Prohib by changing the frt is different than the oic ban. If you dont believe me, look at the EE and tell me if you see any MS or SLR rifles for sale. If they were under the OIC you would not be seeing them for sale. I mean at the end of the day an rcmp officer could arrest you for shooting a scary looking single shot .22, does that mean youre not going to go shooting? Again, its a great website i just wish theyd specify the guns that were prohib by FRT reneging as yes it does make a difference.

This is a good point. The intention of the site was to reflect exactly what is in the FRT without inserting any other information or opinion. But I agree that a distinction should be made between what was banned by name and what was interpreted to be banned by the RCMP.

One problem is there are some unquestionable AR15s not banned by name but that the RCMP have reclassified and I wouldn't want to give off the impression that their classification is open to interpretation.

The OIC already states very clearly which guns are banned by name. The list is in alphabetical order. Its not that difficult to browse through it via the PDF.
I don't see an absolute need to make that redundant on armalytics. Would be a nice feature for simplicity sure, but its not a big deal.
