Out of the GEN 2 I haven't seen any birdshot yet, although the 00 pattern is a tight grouping for a Tactical SG. From my research the way the Barrel is designed the extended cone on the "steelium" barrel helps keep the shot grouping tighter.

I'd say that it patterns tighter than Remington's improved cylinder choke across all shot sizes. The ghost ring sights are a treat, and I tend to run a bead on everything.

I've certainly locked the gun up before, but it wasn't from the release. Got lazy loading the mag tube, and the round slipped under the carrier. You do that once

That said, I've shot just about every semi worth considering, and I do believe the 1301 to be the finest (tac) shotgun, with a standard stock or the Mesa pistol gripped stock to date.

There is absolutely zero reason to touch the bolt release after loading through the e port. There is a nice button shroud available that eliminates any chance of an inadvertent activation.

Failing to seat a round in the magazine tube won't lock the gun up. When the round slips atop the lidter3 like that, you can either shoot like normal and that round will cycle, or manually cycle the bolt and clear it out.

Not having Threaded chokes breaks the deal.
It is next to impossible to thread a chrome lined bore for chokes aftermarket.

The overall design between the two is similar. The GEN2s have a redesigned bolt-release and come with interchangeable chokes, whereas the GEN1s have a fixed cylinder bore choke.

I just bought mine from you guys and was told your military discount couldn't be applied to this specific item because the margins were too close.

Made sense until weeks later they're being sold for 10% off.
