What differentiates a gen 1 vs a newer beretta 1301?

These 1301’s are OUTSTANDING semi-auto shotguns. They eat everything, never jam, totally reliable, & accurate.
Plus, their cycle time is reduced so they are super fast. Easily hold theirs with the more expensive Benelli’s.
The gen1 tacticals are worth it.

Not threaded for chokes and an older-style bolt release button.

Gen 2 have the updated bolt release and the barrels are threaded for chokes.

This "fatal flaw" myth was probably started and paid for by Beretta's competitors.

So with no choke, do they get a usable pattern with bird shot? The “fatal flaw” does not seem so bad
