The VG6 Gamma is a muzzle brake and compensator hybrid that virtually eliminates recoil and minimizes muzzle movement. Its unique chamber geometries give it a very soft feel in the shoulder, and the gas ports’ dimensions have been strenuously tested to give the utmost control to the muzzle. This model is constructed of 17-4 stainless steel with a black nitride finish, 5/8×24″ RH threads, and includes the crush washer.

Compatible with 7.62mm calibers.

Compatible with 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 Remington SPC calibers.

Am I reading that right, the .308 version only weighs 1.6 ounces?

If so, I’ll order right away! Have been looking for a light weight muzzle brake for my .308.

Anyone use these on a bolt action?
Contemplating for my .308 savage ultralight with the proof barrel.

Was either this or v7 industries titanium as its 1.6 oz but this is barely heavier with another baffle... seems like an all around win.

Any opinions appreciated.

I just ordered one for my ultralight in 6.5 prc so I’ll let you know. I have these in 5.56, 7.62 and 9mm already so I can attest to their performance on black rifles, just need ear pro while hunting is the only downside but they are very efficient.

Please definitely keep me posted on that, I’ve heard reports that when they are optimized for semi auto they aren’t as effective on bolts. But that could easily be hearsay

The "truth about guns" did a muzzle brake shootout, single shots from an AR-15 on a gun strapped to a sled measuring barrel rise, rifle movement etc... Granted a braked gas gun even on single shot will reduce more than a braked bolt gun, but it shows how efficient each are. The VG6 was one of the better ones.

Sounds like heresay. We have mounted VG6 comps to 308 and 6.5 bolt guns and they work just as expected. We run them on everything.

How does gas escaping get optimized for semi auto versus bolt? Sure the gas tube and action mitigate some recoil... but I'd be very surprised if there was any design change at the muzzle end. If reducing recoil is #1, then platform shouldn't matter in how it vents/functions.

Completely agree.
