Tim Horton's is probably not a great place to do a firearm transfer if you live in the big city. All those soccer mom's will have a conniption. If it's a rural Tim's probably ok.
I learned a couple of weeks ago that Edmonton Police Service has put in a couple of marked parking spots at most of their stations especially for people to meet and park when they sell stuff via craigslist/kijiji/cgnee. There is a camera monitoring the area. So this is pretty ideal and safe for firearms, fancy electronics and other stuff that might you might be scammed or robbed. This might apply in other cities/jurisdictions as well.
Another great place to meet up is at your local shooting range. Most organized ranges will support this - but check first.
