    Stop drinking the statist coolaid.

In 1934 the first registration of handguns began. In 1939 those firearms had to be reregistered, and more than half of them weren't. The government must have just assumed all these people took their handguns to war and never brought them back.

In 1950, the government changed the registration process and all previous guns needed to be reregistered under the new system. Once again more than half of the estimated guns were not reregistered.

In 1968 the law changed again, and the restricted weapon registration system was created. All previous registrations were cancelled and all guns had to be re-registered, and this time records would be centralized with the RCMP. The new registry did a reasonable job of capturing new guns entering the market but almost no legacy firearms re-registered.

In 1995 the law changed again, and in 1998 when it came into force the firearms act prohibited half of the 1.2 million registered handguns in the country. In a 2006 audit of the firearms program Liberal Auditor General Shiela Fraser found that in the change over from the Restricted Weapon Registration System to the new Canadian Firearms Information System, the RCMP lost track of between 400,000 and 600,000 restricted and prohibited firearms. The RCMP could not explain where they went, why they were not re-registered, and in the first full five years of the new system being up and running, the RCMP had done the square root of fvck all to try to find out.

In 1994 the NFA was bragging that there were almost 5 million FAC holders and as many as 7 million gun owners. Today, 2.3 million PALs, and that is with 20 years of population growth. You think the government doesn't know who all the FAC holders were that never bothered to get a PAL? 5 million people through their guns in the lake?

You see any prisons full of formerly legal gun owners?
Government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods. HL Mencken. 1919.

We all know lot's of farmers and firearms owners who do not have a firearms licence. Oddly enough they are not in jail either.

All this turmoil over a cheap political trick to gain some points in the polls?
Turd isn't smart enough to be playing a slow burn chess game. He is a 14 year old kid glued to Insta/Facebook/Twitter trying to stay in fashion with the fleeting whims of the masses.

When #### really hits the economic fan in Canada the imaginary spectre of being gunned down in your driveway by roving gangs of White Supremacists with AR-15s will quickly turn to things like food and mortgage payments.

Canadians have (a) the right of the individual to life, liberty, security of the person and enjoyment of property, and the right not to be deprived thereof.

    Never in doubt, seldom correct.
