    My 590A1 SP came with a metal trigger guard. But it's so old I bought it at Wholesale Sports. I suppose you have to go through all the details for each model on the Mossberg website and if that doesn't answer, send them a question.

    14" Mossberg's usually go for a premium and this model has some unique furniture.
    The 14" 590A1's that came in a few years ago for around the same price was a better deal, but as you may have noticed we have experienced some inflation of gun prices in the last year or so.... yes fair as in reasonable given the current market prices.
    Our Government trusts rivets more then law abiding gun owners.
