If you cut the hinges off the door, there are still pins on both sides that hold the door in place, even on the cheap ones. I had a TL-30 burglary-resistant safe ($$$$$) from Diebold once upon a time and it had hinges on the outside. It's pretty common.

Does anyone have a picture of the back? I'm curious about the power supply and if I need a recessed plug installed before pushing the safe against the wall. Also curious if the door is easily lifted off the hinge and how much it weighs.

Pretty common on better quality safe's.... if buddy wants internal hinges he will save lot's of money buying a security container..... not to say the safe in this thread is not what some would consider a security container.....

Has a recessed Male plug on the back with a extension cord. Needs about 1/2" clearance from the wall to run the cord.
Door is roughly 250lb and is easily lifted while open.

30-40 mixed longguns plus the small arms on the door.
