This has been happening since i was a kid (stores asking for numbers) and they cant do much legally.

some people (other than them obviously) opt in to promotions where you can get a text or links to products useful to them.

But I concede it must obviously be the one where they sell your obviously incredibly valuable information.

not that its available to anyone with the time to type 10 numbers into a modern day device.
