Why do you sell to certain dealers?

They have a terrible reputation and undercut other dealers. They blame Black Friday and COVID when other dealers ship within a day in the same time frame.

I've been waiting nearly two weeks for my Ruger Ranch Rifle to leave their warehouse... I assume it hasn't left yours yet it was "in stock".

    Shame on you.

First off, thank you to tiriaq and other moderation team for their hard work monitoring CGN - we certainly appreciate their professionalism.

One of the reasons we participate on CGN is the awesome community, and we like to be able to interact with end users. As a distributor, we are somewhat removed from consumers. This year has been even worse on this front, as we've not attended any shows where we speak with consumers directly. So, in the interest of sharing info and interacting with the public, we're open to constructive discussion. However, this needs to remain civil and respectful. We've removed names of dealers - let's keep this professional and not single out any parties.

With regards to Ruger; we are one of two authorized distributors in Canada. Big Rock Sports is the other. There is a large distributor that grey-markets Ruger products (they are not authorized by Ruger to sell into Canada). There are also two grey-marketing dealers that import Ruger and offer dealer pricing (though we hear from dealers this option is rarely opted for, due to minimal room for any profit).

No distributor has the ability to dictate where dealers purchase products, as the dealers have options.

As mentioned, we are open to continuing this conversation, so long as we all remain civil.

    Regards,
    KGL

The idea that you'd complain about the businesses practices of a dealer, as an end user, to a distributor in a public forum is bizarre.

If the reputation of this dealer is so bad then that also begs the question: why did you buy from them?

Being able to find authorized dealers off your website would go a long way to solving the problem, screen shot as of 15 min ago...

Thanks Tim. Our IT folks are working on a substantial site upgrade, and we've lost the dealer locator function until this upgrade occurs. Most every brick and mortar store is a dealer of ours. If you are unsure, send us a PM for clarification.
