How about we actually get a stable supply of Type-81's first, then in 223 that would be good with minimal design changes
a 12G T81 is an entirely new gun
While we’re at it a 54r PSL variant, ya I can’t see it being a possibility at the moment
I don't even think a stable supply is possible since (correct me if I'm wrong but) TI said the factory is not going to be producing much more after this last run of t81 lmgs.

It would take a lot of designing and tooling to convert t81 into a shotgun. I don't think the projected sale in Canada will justify the costs for norinco.
I'd do bad things for a not zastava m76.
