    What about 16.5 inch barrel ranger version? Is accuracy any better with factory ammo?

    Is not really fair to judge a rifles performance using factory ammo unless you test as many different loads available to you and see what does/doesn't work.
    Rolling your own is only way to see the true potential.

    As an example, my Rem783 16"/223 will go from sub MOA to shotgun pattern within a grain difference of powder. 223 being a low capacity cartridge it can be pretty sensitive to load and seating depth in my experience.
