They are more of a light grey, it still has a very nice colour and certainly looks the part of a "black rifle". I put an aftermarket handguard on it that is matte black and even with the different it doesn't look half-bad, I'll probably DIY coat it myself this summer as a project though.

Just bought one. And Just to confirm, these are the newer production run from Kodiak? No issues with them?

They are just off the truck. They are black. Only one regular left and three Magpul edition.
