Do short 5/5 or 5/10 mags exist for the Type 81? Does TI or anyone know else know where to find them if they do exist?

Would Magpul AK mags work with the Type 81 LMG?

They do with modification. Murray 3-D has an awesome video that walks you through the process.

Excellent, will check that out. Looking forward to the Type-81 LMG more, hopefully I didn't miss the window when I put the purchase through last week.

We offered refunds for anyone that bought a drum and wasn't happy with it, and free kits for those that bought before we updated the website describing how drums were blocked since there was no possible way they could have known. These free kits costed literally 10's of thousands of dollars, not to mention significant man-hours in coordinating replacements from factory, coordinating with each person that wanted one, packing, and sending hundred of packages.

For those that purchased after the website was updated and also didn't want a refund we now offer below-cost subsidized wheels. These are not cheap and we lose money on every one.

Honestly, not sure what more we can do to make people happy? Seriously, what other company in any industry would go to such extremes?

Ak's definitely have better aftermarket support but Type 81's are definitely the better shooter. Significantly less recoil, flatter shooting, more controllable, better pointability/less front heavy. Type 81's didn't roll out till the mid-80's, decades after the AK had already established itself and in an era were new designs were just on the forefront. Caught between two worlds.

You didn't fix it properly until long after I bought mine. Who was going into the accessories page and reading the change you made? I bought mine from a drop down menu on the rifle page because that was the only way to buy anything since you locked everything out to prioritize rifle buyers.

Eventually you did put it where all could see without searching but that was quite a while. A refund is also BS since you never offered to pay for shipping. Nobody should be taking a hit but you. Anyway I'm done with it now. I ordered and paid despite not feeling I should have to. You won't be seeing any business from me in the future, it's all I can do so it's all that will be done.

Client bought drum well after website was updated and refused full refund. Wanted a "special exception" for free drum. Wife was quite rude to our staff on both occasions she called in on his behalf and hung-up both times.

Hard to say no to owning an AK though if one could. Highly desirable that goes beyond the unattainability of the firearm.
