Oh really? Very surprising for a mossberg, all my 590s and 500s have been flawless

I understand this is the bottom of the barrel 88 but I wanted to add it my collection

Never heard of a mossy with light primer strikes, sorry you are dealing with that

I am also very surprised, I have a Mossberg 500 persuader for over 20 years and probably more than 10000 rounds and still working great like new

I dont know about light primer strikes but have issues when i shoot challenger and federal bulk ammo seems they are expanding and are stuck in the chamber .Tried many others like Hornady high grade winchester and remington bucks and slugs no problems!

I think it just needs to be broken in tear it down, clean it well and shoot more slugs/buckshot , the problem will go away

My 500 had light primer strikes. Only took one trip to the gunsmith to fix it. He said it's common - the firing pin spring needed to be less .. robust...

Always tempted to grab one of these on the cheap and try and find some wooden furniture off an old 500.

You may already be aware of this but the fore end is moulded into the action bars on the 88, you’ll need the assembly for the 500’s fore end
