TI, aren't you the importer for the short/mini shells? Be nice to be able to get them in a bulk pack... At a discount, naturally
Always looking for guns made 1890 or earlier - class doesn't matter, even prohibiteds.
I got my "factory defect" extractor model today and did a quick comparison with the, um, non-defect "nice" model or whatever, that I got last week.
The "nice" one is very nice, through and through. Nice finish, nice action, smooth hinge, overall very cool gun.
The "defect" has a poorer finish, there are a couple spots that you can see solder where the vent rib is attached to the barrels, there was some light surface rust, and the action is much, much harder to open. Manageable, but definitely stiffer. With the thinner butt pad, the OAL length is reduced to under 23" and even that 5/8" difference is very noticeable when shouldering. But none of these are deal breakers, I might even like this one better than the "nice" one.
The barrels, receivers, stocks and everything are different, no compatible parts that I can tell. The "nice" model appears to be compatible with my Lazer Arms XO12 though.
Finances dictate that I can only keep one of these three. The XO12 has been my hiking buddy for the last little while and is the most practical, with its 12" barrels, chokes and extractors, but I think she might be destined for the EE. Now I just need to decide which SS-211 will join it in looking for a new forever home. Decisions, decisions...
My "defect" one is absolutely great. No blemishes anywhere, opens up a bit hard but no biggie. I guess I scored.
Everyone loves it. Super happy with the $200 discount.
Just thought I'd share.
Stripped the grit, lubed and it falls open past the first chamber.
Made a short stalk extension and it handles the larger rounds nicely.
Thanks TI
