We will be closing our accounts with them too. Just because we 'won' does not make what they did OK with us or the firearms community.

I am sorry to hear that your business has to go through this whole ordeal. It is absolutely not right that companies with the power to change the livelihood of others make these decisions based on biases and public perception of a fully Canadian legal activity. I hope your message serves as a constant reminder and a warning to those in our community of the risks that one takes when doing business with BNS.

I left feedback accordingly for Scotiabank.

The more of us that speak up, perhaps Scotiabank will realize this was a poor decision.

Hmm yes, this behavior is unacceptable. Sounds like someone was on a witch hunt and decided to burn Prophet River. Oh well, the stress got to me so I put an order through to make myself feel better

to hurt or even influence the bottom line it would have to be in the billions

    Revenue Increase C$31.3 billion (2020)[2]
Net income Decrease C$6.8 billion (2020)[2]
    AUM Increase C$291.7 billion (2020)[2]
Total assets Increase C$1,136 billion (2020)[2]
Total equity Increase C$70.5 billion (2020)[2]
    Number of employees 92,001 (2020)[2]

But it does look like earnings are down 6.8 billion ..... is this because of covid ?

I didn’t read every post so forgive me if this was already posted.

There is some irony here. I just received my Sako Rebate cheque cheque. Guys who they bank with? That’s right BNS.

So inadvertently, BNS is still doing God’s work!! LOL!!
I dislike having a battle of wits when my opponent comes unarmed....it just seems so unsportsmanlike!

I wrote an email to the president of BNS, just got this reply:

    Dear Kale,

Thank you for raising your concern with Scotiabank. While we are unable to share the details of customer concerns for confidentiality reasons, we can confirm this is an individual client matter and not related to the industry. Since the issue was raised with us, Scotiabank has worked closely with our customer to resolve the concern to their satisfaction. For your information, Scotiabank does not preclude banking sporting retailers, or those whose business includes the legal retail sale of licensed firearms in Canada including to law enforcement.

    Sincerely,

    Office of the President

Glad to read they changed their path. We are strong if we use one voice people!

It was amazing to see the back peddling once pressure was applied.
