    Wife applying for PAL 1st time, can you do it all online?

    Wife applying for PAL 1st time, can you do it all online? Or do you physically have to mail it in with it being the initial application? Hard to find an answer online via searches.

    Thanks!

    It's for renewals only.

    Licence renewal for individuals

    Individual Web Services
    <https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firearms/individual-web-services>

    If she doesn't have a firearms license, she'll have to apply using the paper form.

    RCMP 5592
    Application for a Possession and Acquisition Licence Under the Firearms Act (for Individuals Aged 18 and Over) (PDF, 769 KB)

    Use this form if you do not already have a licence or if your licence has expired. This form should also be used:
    -to upgrade/downgrade a current licence, such as for a first time licence
    -for a new licence if your current licence has expired
    -for a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for a different class of firearm

    Congratulations on your wife applying, mine is going to do the course after COVID and apply for a RPAL.

    Nope. She needs to do the course and write the exam. She should do the combined course that gives her a hunting license,too,even if she decides not to hunt,for now.. Good on her for getting into the sport. On-line stuff is for renewals,only.

    She's taken the courses and passed the exam. Yes super proud of her. Was not sure if initial application could be done online. Thanks for the clarification!

    I already showed her that video. It sort of backfired on me as it almost convinced her to have me cancel the application to get my PAL and not chance any of it. D'oh!
