    460 Wby really is prohibited

When it was first announced we we hoping it was an unintended consequence of the 10K J limit. Guessing this might be already posted on the more political forums...

But Wikipedia says it is a 7.5kJ cartridge.

    Edit: My mistake. It's 7.5k Foot-Lbs

    Nope, it's 10K Joules.

There are a whole bunch more calibers / rifles now sneakily prohibited because of this. Most are expensive African game rifles and the others are the extreme long range bolt guns.

Don't worry That .22 LR will soon be considered a long range bolt gun.

These people will never stop. They survive on banning. Look how Rathgen went to the tobacco ban lobby.

We have a Westley Richards 577 Nito coming in (@243K US$ !!) in a couple weeks. Just checked, still NR (for now) Guy waited four years and will be into it for just about exactly 400K CAN$ by the time its in his hands. I wonder what compensation the government would be will to do if they were to confiscate it if it goes to prohib? (hate calling it a buy back when they never owned them in the first place)

The letter of the law is rigid. Even if you had been right about it being unintended, it wouldnt have had a quick fix.
