Just confirmed with Sylvestre they are waiting on barrels to build retail 5.56 complete J180 rifles locally from kits, at a price of $2500.

$2500 is STEEP for a rifle with the ergonomics of a brick with the Gen 2 Wk180 ($1500) and the Sterling R18 ($2700)

0% chance I'd pay that for a Jard rifle.

    "Cool story bro"

What a f*ckin smooth brain response to an opinion.

Im simply stating that I personally wouldnt pay that much for a rifle when there are cheaper options that are likely as good, and marginally more expensive options that are better.

Go ahead and buy one if it gets your rocks off. Ill buy something more ergonomic that doesnt look as though it was designed by a lego builder.

The locally built 5.56 J180 rifles will be using non-restricted length MRA barrels and handguards, with a Magpul butt stock, and will come with the charging handle slot cover. Less expensive Jard-built rifles are an unknown number of months away.

MRA barrels and handguards are good quality, plus it means part of the rifle is now made in Canada. This plus having a unit sealed as much as a BRN-180 in DI with no piston to break in a non-bullpup form factor that does not involve the R18s controversial sponsor may make the price worthwhile to some. Only time well tell.

They do have the dust covers in stock. They're pricey, but with one on a J180 is about as sealed as a BRN-180.
