    A machinist's trick to work around a loose pin (other than machining a completely new pin) is to use a almost-closed vice to lay the pin in, then use a cold chisel to strike 3 or 4 longitudinal grooves in the pin. You may need to press the pin back in with a vice again, but that should stop it from walking out.
