Solutuion: Famae produces replacement lowers for these guns and ships them to you to forward to those that want them over the 540 proprietary Swiss mag style lower.

I don't have a dog in the fight currently but I was looking forward to picking up one of these examples from a cancelation or a on the 2nd hand market, and quite frankly the only main reason I had any interest in this was because it had been fully modernized to a 540 equivalent of the Sig 556 that we see stateside in limited quantities.

Either way I hope you're bringing in lots of 542 mags, they always seem to be in far to short of supply.

Well because we were expecting different rifles we won't have spare 540 mags. As for solutions, we will have to wait until they can be discussed.

It sounded like many here actually prefer the proprietary magazines over the stanag options so this shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Ouch. That's quite unfortunate considering factory stanag compatibility was my biggest reason for wanting the 540/3.

It's even more sad because the first ever stock photo I saw of a "new" 540 was some Chilean expo with it and a 542 in the background, wherein the 540 obviously had a stanag mag in it.
Kinda sounds more like they knew exactly what they were doing and screwed you with old-stock lowers.

The contract was for rifles that take STANG mags. That is what we asked for. The lowers are not old stock, they are new production and will not in fact take the old style stocks. However we don't have the time to deal with the error, so here we are. Again, if you are not happy refunds will be available (hopefully very soon).

Hmm very interesting. Weird they would make their expo rifles stanag and then revert yours to proprietary.

Totally get that it isn't your fault if that's in writing that they were to be stanag lowers. Kinda sounds like a breach of contract to me, but I don't know how that stuff is enforced in another country LOL.
Oh I'll definitely be getting the rifle still. Moreso just salty that all my plans for mag compatibility (got Lotsa stanags, have zero 540 mags) out of the box just got axed, and it sounds like I won't have any more than the 2 mags it comes with, which again, I realize isn't your fault because you never planned on getting proprietary mag lowers so never planned on getting the mags.

I'm still thankful you guys even initiated this. Just really sucks for everyone involved, including you, that it's going down this way. I'm very positive this won't hamper overall sales though, even if some people do decide to refund.

Well it took a year to get here. Are you suggesting we have them hold the shipment for a few months to correct things? Our opinion is that C-21 will likely take aim at semi auto rifles again. So we don’t believe there is time to correct this.
Also catastrophic is just a tad hyperbolic.
