It seems like FAMAE is dragging their feet.. I hope we will be able to take our rifles to the range at least once before our beloved govt does their usual thing.

Why is the Cnd Firearms industry easily the most disorganzied? No one has any idea what they're ordering and getting.

Here is the latest (and final) update, it is being sent to all who pre ordered. Shipping date is not finalized but is expected to be next week.

    FAMAE Import Update

Well it has been just over a year since we put together our FAMAE order and you placed your deposit(s).

This message is to bring you up to speed on the shipment and allow you to get ready for the arrival of the rifles.

First the bad news, the factory has made an error in production and the SG540 rifles are not set up to accept STANAG magazines. They are instead like the previous rifles and take SG540 and SG550 magazines. Because this was not what we ordered, we had no spare magazines on order and the only magazines currently available are the two that come with each rifle. Furthermore, due to time constraints because of the impending passage of C-21, we simply are not able to have FAMAE rectify the problem or provide spare magazines in the time available.

We recognize that this may cause issues with those that had expected a different rifle and unfortunately, we have limited options. If you are unhappy with the rifle as manufactured, we will provide you a full refund of your deposit, and because we held your money for this long, we will also include a $50 credit on any future purchase from CSC. If you choose to accept the rifle in the configuration provided, rest assured that we are working on bringing in more magazines (should we be able to after C-21), and those that purchased a rifle through the pre order will be eligible for a deeply discounted price on up to three additional magazines. We apologize for this issue and hope that these options will at least help make things right.

The SG 542 rifles were produced as expected and there are no changes or issues. We have also ordered a supply of parts for both 540 and 542 rifles and once again reiterate that warranty work and repairs are done right here in Calgary. We will have a spare parts kit available for those that need it, but we will not be selling individual parts.

The good news is that all export issues have been resolved and the rifles are ready to ship. Once shipping details are finalized, we expect the rifles to land in Calgary at the end of August. To help speed up shipments, we would appreciate it if those that placed pre orders could contact orders@theshootingcentre.com and provide your PAL number, address, and date of birth. We will start issuing invoices as soon as we can, and if all transfer references are completed, we will be able to ship without delay.

    Thank you for your patience.

Yay !! Rifles are coming in !!

Question for you at CSC : Would it be possible to get the barrel threaded to install the Lantac Dragon for AK on the 542-1M (https://store.theshootingcentre.com/...-muzzle-brake/) ?

It appears that the barrels are already threaded and we believe 14x1 metric. We will have to confirm this once they arrive though.
