Cool Squib Rods! - JF Gunworks - Back in stock!

    Hey Gunnutz,

We now have Squib Rods available on our website!

Squib rods are a very handy tool to keep in your range bag. They can be used to push a stuck case out of your chamber or a stuck bullet out of your barrel. They also make a great tool to help new shooters "examine the bore" on their pistol rather than looking down the barrel. These Squib Rods are made from solid brass which will help protect your barrel from damage. Each order ships with two rods. One for .22 to .32 calibre and one for .357 (9mm) to .45 calibre. They are approximately 9" long.

Don't let something as simple as a stuck case ruin your range day!

Only $16.99 for a set of two!

    Thank you,

    Hey Gunnutz,

Our Squib Rods are now available individually! So if you need just one size you can save a few bucks over buying the set of two!

    Simple neat tool!

The looking down the bore thing is always a point of contention.. some ranges encourage it, some ban it entirely..

I've seen new shooters really struggle with "examining the bore" when proving firearms safe. At my club we encourage the use of a tool like this to all shooters. It really does make the process a lot easier.

    Thank you,

Thats exactly how we were taught in my PAL course - you can't break the 180 degree barrier while proving the gun during the practical exam, so for anything other than the break action shotgun you had to run a cleaning rod down the bore from the muzzle end, while ensuring the gun stayed pointed in a safe direction. Well, you had to pretend to run a cleaning rod down the bore, they didn't actually have 20 noobs stuffing a cleaning rod down their demo guns. lol

Although honestly I don't think I've ever used that method IRL...

Don't leave a nice brass squib rod like that at the bottom of your range bag until the day it's needed, lest you discover that the life it'd had down there has led to it now being just slightly curved so it won't go down a pistol bore. Don't ask me how I know this!
