What is the condition of the stocks, sanded and de-cosmolined?
Got mine today and really happy. I'm going to take it to the range tomorrow. The stock has the heel repair on it and the wrist pin. It's in natural finish and I'm going to finish it with TruOil. The bolt handle is pitted but not too bad. The bore is dark with a bit of pitting in the grooves but the lands are quite strong. The 91/21 stamp is very discreet and looks good. I've got it soaking in Butch's Shine right now and will give it a polish tonight.
This rifle will be coming up to the property I'm working on and be in the boat and around camp.
A lot of WWll coming out of this rifle. Cleaning up nicely!
lol
Any additional pics of the bore conditions?
I didnt make it to the range yet but did some more cleaning and have some better results. Marstar lists these as in 'fair' condition which I think is accurate. Other bores may be better or worse.
The copper residue is gone now.
This is the worst spot I could find near the chamber.Keep in mind that these are very detailed bright pictures. To look down the bore towards a light, it looks mirror chrome shiny. These borescopes show the harsh reality of what your bore really looks like. This bore is pretty good considering what this rifle has been through.
I'm making some shims for the 2 action bolts right now and might have a range outing later today.
