Definitely a huge missed opportunity here.

With what happened with the vz58 pistol mags I HIGHLY doubt that these would come in as a legal pistol with 10 rnd mag. (My guess is the would be deemed dual purpose just like said VZ58 mags)

I just can't given how many people have published long in depth proof of issues.

If they were issues which have since been resolved then I would be delighted, but I am ignorant of any that have occurred.
I was in the same boat. My research seemed to indicate that people were a LOT happier generally with the newer short-handguard version, with the lighter profile barrel. I bought one and so far it's been fine. That being said, I have very few rounds through mine.

I am still surprised at the appetite for restricted rifles. On one hand if you no longer want one the gov't has won. But yet on the other hand the gov't can ban at whim and you are left in limbo.

This. I can't justify it, considering our tyranny.

Edit* it's funny how anti gunners are always telling me "you live in fear" and that's somehow why I like guns and now gunnies are telling me the same thing cause I don't want to waste money in paper weights. I've got all the firepower I "need" and can't bring myself to spend money on short term thrills.
