I just got back from Wolverine, where I was finally able to pick up my long awaited B4 combination in .223 / 12 gauge, with a left hand stock.
It is the Black edition, with their grade 4 wood; about as entry level as you can get with a Merkel. Despite being their 'lowest' level, it is easily the nicest looking gun I own. It is very ergonomical, feeling like an extension of myself when I aim.
The light, crisp, precise triggers, combined with the quality iron sights made for a number of dead pigeons on my yard within a few minutes of getting home. But really I cannot overemphasize, the triggers are phenomenal, particularly when shooting the rifle barrel. Then when it is time to reload, the unlock and tilt action are smooth as butter. I can report that so far the extractors work very well, with each empty hull falling from the chamber, and the rifle brass pulling out very easily.
I'm really looking forward to getting out and doing some proper hunting with it this fall, as it's a very light, compact gun. I'm thinking slug hunting for deer will be fun.
Thanks a lot for bringing it in guys, it is everything I'd hoped it would be. Hopefully someday I can do a good long review of it. Preferably after it has harvested some proper game.
