I find it interesting how they so carefully frame the need for a reduction in "gun" violence.

They are notably quite careful not to speak about reducing "violence" in general.

Most people are too stupid to recognize that a reduction in violence from one method shifts to an increase in violence from another method.

Ban guns and violence by baseball bats increases... Once committed to the task, people will always simply use the best available tool for the job.
