Inflation makes assets more valuable and fiat currencies less valuable. In other words, “stuff” is worth more and the money needed to buy it is worth less.
If hell freezes over and the Hypocrite gets re-elected, he’s going to discover that gun prices have escalated and gun owners will demand twice as much as before for any buy-back program he is planning.

I have no doubt that inflation is affecting costs including shipping but, if that's what they are really paying for a container, they need a new freight agent. I was recently quoted on a 40' reefer container from a rather large country beside China and it was almost exactly 1/2 that amount and that was up about 2K from my pre-covid shipping costs.
