It's Turkish Walnut with an oil finish.
YES! I love it! Just the fore end needs some wooden grip panels and the rifle would be complete.

It’s gets to the point where you just want to look at the rifle and not shoot it
How do you find the pistol grip ? Seems like it may get slippery with sweat or rain ? Some stippling would be nice
