Thread: Type 81 Special Edition now in stock?

    Are these original type 81’s? The receiver stamping looks different and the Saftey is on the right side instead of the left on the folder.
    Just curious as these look different than the 2017 models.

    Only the fixed stock non optics version has the left side safety. All the others have right side safety switches as per TI's Instagram post comments. I prefer the left side safety non optics version but I'm not sold on the fixed stock...

    did they say why they switched the folder selector to the right?

    I am pretty sure the cheekweld should be fine when using a red dot. The way the full stock is angled you have to really dig your face in forward and low to see the irons, wouldn't have to do that with an optic.

    Doesnt make sense, the folding stock would mess with safety when collapsed position. A non optic folder should have a left hand safety.
    Can this be switched over if actually on right
