17 WSM has been discontinued by Volquartsen. I had one of their rifles and it blew up in my face. Just plagued with too many issues.

While slim, there is a potential risk for of out of battery detonation with semi auto rimfire rifles in magnum calibers.

Volquartsen actually discontinued their WSM line due to the extreme variations in 17 WSM ammo lots. Without a reliable metric for velocity and spread in the ammo there is no way to guarantee performance and accuracy. Even their proposed straight pull Summit in 17 WSM was shelved for this reason.

That being said, we do have plenty of nice .22 LR rifles in stock.

I had wanstalls order me a VQ in 17hmr. I'm getting dime sized 10 shot groups at 50 yards. its definitely in my top 3 favorite rifles. i cant wait for gopher hunting next year.

Thanks again Anil

Ya I know, I was working with Scott Volquartsen on that problem. The first rifle wouldn't fire reliably and the replacement he sent me blew up. The tungsten bolt split down the middle and blew out the side through the ejection port. I was ok but shook me up a bit that's for sure. The WSM casing is way too inconsistent and thick around the rim so getting reliable ignition is a big problem as well.

17 wsm was garbage from the get go. They should give people atleast a partial refund and have them send back their rifles to them. Unless they did that.
