Ahh I remember the old days when rations were in tin can form. Bacon in a can and corned beef hash in a can.
Current serving. The newest rations I’ve eaten were 2020 packed and have no frh in them.
I should note we do get them, just as a completely separate thing. They don’t physically get packed inside the imp so if you’re buying them surplus don’t expect one in there.
Sgt: Troop is there a RAT in side a CRATE
Trp: Yes Sgt there's Rat in CRATE
Sgt: Troop is there a COT in the COTTAGE
Trp: Yes Sgt there's is a Cot in COTTAGE
Sgt: Is there a FRH in Your Ration?
Trp: No Sgt there is not an FRH in Ration
Sgt:That's what I been trying to tell you!
THERE'S NO FKN RATION HEATER IN THE RATIONS!
I just ran out of IMPS. Keeping a poutine one for posterity lol.
Need these back in case lots...
I liked the lamb and beef stew ones. Army guys kept trying to give away their salmon ones (nice try!). Had a heater but too much effort/time. Just ate them cold. I don’t recommend that for any of the breakfast ones. Ask me how I know.
This conversation is so funny in many, many ways!!
I’m so old that cans , yeah, tin cans were standard issue in the IRP (not IMPs)… Individual Ration Package. Burn, bash, Bury was the command from the top. Cannot do that anymore (it ain’t 1975). Ha ha hah a
The cans were fun to toss in the fire and then wait for them to explode! Hot tuna fish oil all over the mates!! Ha haha ha ha ha
And that’s why everyone called us, “Dirty Patricias!!”
Peace Be The Journey!
