Did Wolverine always offer customized builds, but just didn't really advertise it as a service? Does the customer get the OEM parts for spare, or do they go back to Spectre for use on the next rifle to slightly offset the price of the custom ordered parts? Or are these built completely in house from receiver kits and 180 specific parts kits, with the remaining parts selected by the customer? Just curious, completely understand if you want to keep the info confidential.

And what specific custom parts are in the pictured rifle?

We don't breaks, lunch, or really ever turn off our brains when we enter this building. So to take a "Break" we go shopping in the store, make builds from things we either have laying around, or off the shelf. As for "extras" from the builds, **generally** things that were stock are included with the gun when it ships. But the reason for some of our builds is that we have odds and sods missing things.... Like this one for example, service needed a spare handguard to repair a rifle... so this one was robbed, sitting there naked, barrel exposed and shamed to the world. So I took it in, cleaned it up, gave it a new handguard so it could rest easy..

Hope that clears it up!

The scary black gun pictured on the bottom has a beaver tail grip , opposed to the straight profile grip , in the top picture. Are these two different style 180s?

The one in my signature block has the Spec 180 MCR lower. The pictured 7.62x39 has the original MCR lower.

Also curious about barrel, iron post and handguard on sigblock build. Looks like a nice C7 homage.

unfortunately, Canada has never used that handguard or rear site.

perhaps your thinking of a us m16a3/a4?

The hand guard is a KAC model M5?

kind of an m4a1 m16a4 homage IMO

I did say homage, not a copy. But the CAF has in fact used the KAC M5... I know... I've held and used it... (Not me pictured)

Also the rear sight reminds me of a Diemaco rear.

Only major difference is the optic (and receivers of course but I digress). Even has the longer pencil barrel.
So yeah, C7 homage.

Interesting, I've never seen the M5 on any issued CAF rifle, then again I'm post Afghan era, so my experience is somewhat limited

Another difference is the butt stock, is not the Canadian style CAR 15 stock. It is the distinct m4 style one.

The aimpoint optic is also a staple of the US Military.

The elements are there but the similarities are much more akin to American service weapons over Canadian ones

This rifle is definitely intended as an homage to a US M4A1/M16A4 rather than a Canadian C7/C8, though all of these firearms are obviously part of the same general family.

It's about as close as we can get to the real thing these days in Canada, with the added benefit of being non-restricted. I've learned my lesson on purchasing restricted firearms after the May 2020 OIC.
