If the store in question has already registered with the Province to collect and remit PST than it shall always be, apparently did not need to be , but is now that they are registered.

    Just so everyone is aware

BC has significantly expanded their interpretation of when the PST applies and it may actually exceed their constitutional authority

A few legal challenges have already been started

    Quebec has done similar things

I'm in Manitoba and was charged 12% tax. I was only expecting 5%, so my purchase was $35 more than I expected. Many online retailers only charge 5% gst, in Ontario and elsewhere when shipping to another province.

I’m also in MB, see my post #8 earlier in the thread… and I suppose choose where you shop strategically lol. It doesn’t matter which province you buy from, they may or may not charge the PST/RST.

If you live in BC and buy from AB online, you will pay all BC taxes.
The reverse is true. If you live in AB and you buy online from BC, you only pay AB taxes.
You can't get away from provincial applicable taxes in online purchases. Only if you are there physically with cash.
