lol they already said they're gonna have better quality control. it's one of the main things on their website.

Really the Rem/Marlins worked very well. We sold a pile of them and we only had a few in other models that had the sights not lined up perfectly. Luckily we noticed them before we sold them (I hope we did anyways). Mechanically the old Marlins seemed to be fine. I am sure Ruger will do a great job on these as you said and make them even better! I can't wait to check them out!! Jeff (The first one is for me!!!)

I would really like one with a 12” barrel, a la the chiappa Alaskan rifles.

but I think it’s unlikely to be offered from Ruger as the American short barrel rifle laws.

45/70 mares lag perhaps?

Not hard to do. Pre Rem Marlins were very good rifles. When Remington took over, things remained that way for a while before quickly falling apart. IMO, Ruger is 10x the company Remington is.

Honestly, I had so many problems with Remington. The scariest one I ran into was the guy with the 700 in .300WM where only 1 bolt lug was engaging...Ruger will make a better product because if they didn't...why bother buying Marlin in the first place.

Remington was good.... I believe in 2007 when the freedom group bought them it took them down the hill of no return. Ruger makes a good product, they will bring the brand back.
