If we have a thermal scope why are we not allowed to hunt coyotes and other vermin at night ?

The answer is no, and don't take my word for it, go read the game regulations for your province. The principle is to stop shooting in bad light and risking either shooting another hunter or losing the animal in the dark. After all, we hunt for the positive wildlife experience and that always includes recovering a killed animal.

We can hunt raccoons with dogs at night here. Supposed to give notice to all neighbours first.

Ontario and NS also allow raccoon hunting at night. 22 LR only with dogs.
