I had a Nella from the 90's, what years did the CF use the Nella and what years the Eickhorn? what is the current bayonet used? What one was liked the most?

Eickhorn came in same time as the C7A2 IIRC, so 2004 or so. Nella stayed in the system way past that though with schools, Reserve units etc..

Eickhorn is still current issue and is more useful as a knife but basically useless as a bayonet. Tang is only 3/4 long so they snap if used like a bayonet. Shortly after the C7A2 and Eickhorn 2000 bayonets came in my unit was training down in Quantico and we ran through the bayonet course. We broke bayonets and or bent barrels for a combined fail rate of about 75%.

I do have a Nella that I grabbed for nostalgia.

Pretty much what Leg said.
But one of the reason the Nelly works well is the shape it it. Works just like a dagger.
Where the c7a2 unit is more of a fighting knife.
That said .out Bayonets will take alot of abuse.
