Yeah a $500 optic with no shake awake, pass. I'm going with the PA Slx 10 and purchase 2 for that price.

I got the EoTech for my incoming P320 that already has the DPP footprint - which not a lot of optics do. Adds extra money to have to try and find adaptor plate

exactly, keep it simple. every little thing like a shake awake is just another possible failure point.
Why? With the US army adopting the m17 with DPP footprint this is the one most manufacturers will be moving on to.
It's likely to become the standard mounting pattern (about time we have one) just like 1913/Picatinny/Weaver.
I wouldn't be surprised to even see an RMR with a DPP footprint coming out in the future.
SIG pro line, Bushnell's new RSX lineup and now eotech all going DPP.
