Are you going to do a self indexing brake?

Really nice work, I'm definitely a fan on the angled two piece bases too. Is there enough heft on your ss bottom metal to support a 3" section of arca-swiss forward of the front action screw, if you were to integrate it as one piece?

Ruger007: I get asked this question often enough that I should probably consider it... A self timing brake is a product I've perceived as already being well supported by several manufacturers. Its claim to fame is that a person can install it on the kitchen table and doesn't need to send his rifle into a smith (personally I think a crush washer accomplishes the same thing). What would you like to see in a self timing brake that isn't already readily available?

Fisherguy55: That is a very good idea! My bottom metal would certainly support it well enough, although I feel that would be a feature better suited on AICS magazine pattern bottom metal over the OEM pattern ones I currently offer. ( AICS BM is something I intend to make in the future, although I have enough developmental irons in the fire at the moment.) I could certainly do up a CAD model for a one-off if this is something you are interested in. You can email me at: pcook338@gmail.com

I did a batch of bluing this morning...

Also finished up this run of stainless brakes.

And I am currently working on another run of Tikka Bottom metal!

    Some Bottom Metal progress...

It may look not look like much, but engraving a 3d surface like this is reasonably involved. .001" is a mile here. I've written just over 700 lines of code for this, with each character being controlled by a variable. This allows me to adjust the depth of each letter to compensate for variations of the hand polished surface.

Blued 4140 Tikka Bottom metal anyone?

One is currently unspoken for, I have a few Stainless available.
