.50AE is just too insanely expensive and still pricey to reload for even IF you can find components. .357 is just too mild and common to justify the mass of the Desert Eagle. .44 is the Goldilocks caliber. Packs a nice punch, easy and reasonably priced to reload for.
 
I don't really see the point in a Desert Eagle if it's not in .50AE. The 357 version is like the .22LR replicas of cool guns. Just not the same.

Also, IDGAF what the "original" caliber was. My opinion stays unchanged. lol

Can't agree with you more...Gunna drop a chunk of change on one of these bad boys has to be 50Ae. Go big or go home.
