I would love to see the data on how many people were killed in Canada with legal firearms named in the reclassification list in the 18 months before the list and the 18 months since the list.
Willing to bet all my marbles that the number for both is zero after you subtract fatal shootings by law enforcement.
What will the new conservative leader candidates have to say about the OP?
Mr. Charest?
Mr. Brown?
Mr. Kenney? Maybe...Just Sayin.
Edit: And Carney, the new Liberal Leader.
Is there a reliable source of information available that gives the actual number of AR=15s already turned in due to the OIC ban? I suspect it's a low number, but I would like to know. As for extending the amnesty period, I have no doubt this is due to the political support the Liberals gain or maintain by keeping the issue of gun control up front when they call their supporters for donations.

I hope they keep IBM in charge of the confiscation scheme. They will milk the gov for all its worth and still not have anything working after years of tinkering (think Phoenix payment systems).
I don't see them doing that well this time, 7 years in power means no conservative to blame your fiscal mismanagement on.
IMHO this is less about having more time to add more guns (which can be done through the OIC at any point in time) and more about them lacking the infrastructure to successfully deploy the buyback. I doubt there will be another election. The LPC probably learned from the last time that just enough people will be annoyed with a snap election to prevent a LPC majority. He'd win, but there would be no point.
