I believe it’s IPSC Canada and IPSC World that represents all members to make direct representation to save the sport.
They have the means and the infos to show this is a major shooting sport wide spread in more than 100 countries.

It’s proven that individual action and even petition are ignored by the Libs. We had a 300000 +name in the largest signed petitions against the IOC and it changed nothing. So we have to change ways of doing things. Write to IPSC Canada and push for actions of their parts right now.

On another note..we might not even have range to shoot in a near futur…no new shooters..old one stopping shooting..people just giving up…when membership drop to the point of not paying the bills..shooting range will close.

My MP is a Liberal yes-man. I'll send him an email, but know it will fall on blind eyes.

    Hon. Mr. Flemming,

The new handgun freeze in bill c21 effectively stops Canadians from participating in the Internation Practical Shooting Confederation. This confederation is an action shooting league that is being considered for entry into the Olympic Games. There are over 4000 members in BC alone. Every two weeks there are matches at the Vancouver Island Malahat Gun Range that have a regular attendance numbers of 100 shooters, and there are two official qualifier matches per year on the island that have 200 registered shooters. It is very popular. One in eighty residents on Vancouver Island is a member of Malahat.

I am writing you today for two reasons. The first reason is to point out that a person is more likely to be struck by lightning than murdered by a registered, legal handgun owner. This freeze will spend valuable resources on punishing people that do not commit crime. Sports shooters are not gang bangers. But I suspect you are already aware of this. However, you may not be aware of IPSC and how without hand guns, we can no longer participate in our sport, and new shooters can never join. A handgun freeze directly effects sports shooters, which the Liberal government has promised not to do. Yet, here we are.

The handgun freeze legislation does have provisions for Olympic shooters and coaches to continue to have access to new restricted firearms registrations and transfers. Please consider suggesting to add IPSC members and coaches to this group of individuals.

Please consider opposing bill c21 out right. The money spent on this could hire law enforcement. It could hire boarder security and inspection personnel. The vast majory of crime guns come from America. This money could save thousands more lives by having monitored safe injection sites and drug abuse counseling.

"Banning handguns and assault rifles" sure sounds good to the uneducated and uninformed. Be the leader Canada needs. Don't cave in to peer pressure. Shine light on this abuse of tax payers money and time. And shine light on the abuse of honest, hard working, front line Canadian IPSC sports shooters.
Thanks for the template. I'm not good at writing up letters like these, so this helped a lot.

Any way to reach out to our Olympic Shooters for their support?

It's fantastic to have the shooters who are being excluded complain but far more impactful when those who have been exempted raise the alarm that our Olympic team wouldn't exist had this regulation been in place, and can sign off "trust me, I'm an Olympian".

    Hi Dane,

I recently moved to ______________, and I love it here. I have always been a proud, responsible firearms owner. I shoot for fun, and to feed several families. I have owned quite a number of firearms since I was old enough to get my PAL.

The OIC that banned "assault-style" firearms was the first embarrassing, overreaching and severely under-studied and uneducated Liberal move against firearms that enraged the entire firearms community. Now in just the last couple weeks they have made the next set of large advances on the gun control agenda. On May 18th they put into force the new regulations for "tracking" hunting guns, that puts a onus on small businesses and even individuals to keep personal data on one another for very little reason other than to complicate the sale of firearms. C-21 now threatens to completely stop all the legal handgun transfers in Canada forever.

On each one of these major gun control advances, Canada has set records for the most firearms purchased in such short amounts of time. Just trying to find a handgun in a store right now is near impossible, they have all been purchased. I encourage you to reach out to a small local business like P&D Enterprises in Edmonton for more insight into these sort of impacts. It offers a look at how Canadians really feel about the gun control agenda.

In Canada you are more likely to be struck by lightening than be injured or killed by a PAL holder with a legally obtained, legally owned handgun. The Liberals once again are going for low hanging fruit with the attack on the law abiding firearms community. It will be yet another massive impact on individuals as well as a thriving industry. It will be more tax money wasted on foolish regulation, money that could be spent in so many more effective ways - like strengthening boarder security to stop the #1 firearm related threat to Canadians, which is illegally smuggled guns from the USA to gang bangers and other criminals who do not have and cannot get firearms legally.

Please be a voice for the law abiding gun owners in Canada. The sport shooters, the collectors, the enthusiasts, the hunters, their families and their kids need you to oppose these foolish gun control bills outright. These regulations will do absolutely nothing in the way of Canadian's safety and only serve to further divide. Shine light on the abuse of tax payers money and the abuse of law abiding Canadians to create nothing more than another Liberal virtue signaling headline. "Banning assault-style weapons and handguns" sure sounds good to the uneducated, uninterested and uninformed - but it is like nails on a chalkboard to every legal firearm owner in the country.

    Thank you for your time,

My Email to local MP if anyone wants to steal bits and pieces or all of it.

Thanks. This is an excellent letter.

Does anyone have similar info for participation in Ontario?

It isn't the end of IPSC but it will wither on the vine since it depends on a steady influx of new entrants. Of course, once the freeze in its currents form take hold, there will be few new entrants unless they already hold a handgun license.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying but keep in mind that some do an awful lot. Lumping everyone together in a condescending manner like you seem to be repeatedly doing isn't useful if you are looking for help.

Stupid question, can I still get my black badge? I’ve been wanting to run ipsc a while now but life circumstances (kids) kept me busy.
