The MRX Bison is a compact, light and rugged bolt action rifle that is chambered in 7.62x39mm and is fed with AR15 magazines. This rifle would be comfortable in its scabbard on the side of a horse, packed, slung or mounted onto a Utility Vehicle for ranch, range or backcountry duty. The vertical pistol grip and adjustable stock allows for the rifle to be shot comfortably in any position.

CHASSIS
Machined from aircraft grade aluminum. Finished with Type III hard coat anodize and Cerakote. The chassis comes with side and under rail MLOK mounting points and an integral “one point” QD sling point on the opposite side of the bolt.

MRX Supershort with three lug bolt offering a 60 degree bolt throw.

Hoping to see some scouts in 16" barrel, but with the loudner on, it will be more like an 18" barrel, I think 12" is fine.

Is the quality control on these guys better than the old BCL/NEA products? They're very neat looking. And I'd like to support made in Canada products, but it was...hard with their old products.

Feedback on issues I have read about them has been positive, with them working to get issues solved promptly.

They are really trying to get out from under the previous reputation and have a video from maybe 2019 or so going over all the extra steps and equipment they are using to keep quality control high.

The accuracy is claimed 1 moa for the 16" barrel but I think their standard for the shorter barrels is more like 1.5-2 moa for some reason. I've never had a chance to handle one but they look a bit block like to me and at almost 7 pounds before optics they are on the heavy side for a 12.5 " "scout" rifle.

Just reading some of the specs as I couldn't remember the actual weight (6.9 lbs), and I thought this comment about being the only non restricted frt firearm to take a stanag mag was a bit strange.

Yeah well there are Ruger American Ranch rifles that definitely take AR mags and are definitely non-restricted. So that's total BS. But I'm glad to hear these guns are better. I remember hearing and seeing total horror scenarios with the NEA ARs. Those things were crap. The bolt gun really looks good though. Nitrided barrel, AR grips, AR mags, AR buffer. As long as they work and are reasonably accurate I see rifles like this as the future of firearms ownership in Canada once the semis get the boot.
